Introduction[]
This is a page dedicated to the documentation of the spreading Fog. The Fog is an anomaly that takes over planets and other celestial bodies at a slow rate, filling them with fog creatures which are very dangerous. The Fog has a varying expansion rate, sometimes taking over planets in months or weeks and sometimes just some seconds. Fog almost always starts on the poles of these planets, and the fog creatures in the fog are very diverse, yet all are dangerous and pose a threat to the other inhabitants.
2.1: survival guide[]
Important: In event of fog, everyone should get the right supplies. These include: Food, water, weapons, some form of long distance communication, a camera, flashlights, protection such as pillows and blankets, and anyone caught in the fog should build a shelter quickly. Cars and other vehicles caught in the fog will be of no help as transport, as fog creatures will immediately go after and swarm them. Do not look at or engage in combat with fog creatures until they have found you.
2.2: Effects of the fog on an environment[]
Fog has many different affects and effects on environments. These include the sudden creation of trees, creature creation (aformentioned), and many other things. As the fog spreads the older fog gets thicker and thicker, eventually turning completely black and it is hard to see even with lights. Houses are very dangerous in fog, because they are often used as "sources" for the creation of fog creatures, and also as bases for them. Water is especially affected by the fog, as it is completely uninhabitable to non-fogian life.
2.3: Examples of fog spread[]
Take Earth, for example. On the first day the fog would start in antarctica or maybe the arctic, and then it would slowly spread across the continent. Immediately all bases are evacuated with as much taken as possible, before being overrun by fogians. On the second day it would slow down as it hits water, over the next week taking over the islands surrounding antarctica, then getting faster as it reaches 2 continents: South America and Australia. After 1 more week brazil would begin being destroyed, along with africa. 25 days in australia is completely taken over by fog, and anyone left is stranded as it is an island. Over the next few months the other continents and countries are slowly taken over by the fog, and by 9 months of fog, the earth is totally taken over by the fog. Over time more and more fog creatures form, rising into space to take over the junk and asteroids surrounding earth and then the moon, slowly engulfing the solar system over a few years, but getting faster over time. After 3-15 months of total takeover, fog becomes pitch black, gets thicker, more and stronger creatures, etc.
2.4: Things of notability[]
The SUS-150 Rifle was created to combat the fog creatures, as it is very cheap to make and decently powerful. It was ultimately deemed useless but still widely used by those who were trapped in the fog for defense against tiny creatures. Also anyone caught in the fog will get Fog Sickness. This part is very short so that is all to it.
2.5: Fog Sickness[]
Fog sickness is a disease people get when they are in thick fog. It is relatively mild at first, making them slightly more sad and depressed, but later on causes loss of appetite, constant sweating, diarrhea, bloody urine, convulsions, seizures, narcolepsy, and many other things. It can be cured by drinking >2 gallons of water in one sitting, but this is increasingly more agonizing the more severe the fog sickness is. Fog Sickness gets worse with the fog, so if you are in a long deep fog you will get really bad fog sickness that gets worse over time. The cure only lasts for ~2 weeks.
2.6: The Fog Net[]
The Fog Net is a thing that forms on the edge of fog that prevents things inside of the fog from leaving. It is just a huge net that has razor wire in it. As the fog moves, so does the net, with spike fields sometimes forming.
2.61: Spike Fields[]
Spike fields are just small areas where there are big sharp spikes in the ground. Spike fields are capable of movement.
2.7: Eogos[]
Eogos is a weird phenomenon where there are signs of the fog before the fog comes. Typically fog is without warning, but sometimes that is not true, these rare instances are called eogos. A good example of this is earth, with there being many fog memes spreading around giving information about the fog, its potential origin point and spreading speed, as well as the date that it starts on. These memes are unreliable as the fog cannot be predicted, and nor can its speed or its power.
2.8: close the hatches[]
close the trapdoors.
2.9: The Cries[]
The Cries are an auditory phenomenon heard in areas affected by the Fog. They are made by certain fog creatures to trick survivors into coming towards them, thinking that they are calls from other survivors for help. They are also made by some other things, and cries sound different from others. Most cries sound like human screams, learned from experience of hearing them by fog creatures. The other cries sound like screeches, which are possibly mating calls. Further research is not recommended from anyone as this is incredibly dangerous.
3.0: The White Fog[]
The White Fog is a version of the fog that is white instead of gray / black like normal fog, and is just as dangerous if not more dangerous despite increased visibility (at day at least). White Fog is named white fog because in areas affected by it, massive blizzards are constant, and it gets colder and colder over time, modifying the terrain, making water impossible to survive touching for the average crewmate. White Fog also has different creatures from regular fog, being more adapted to lower temperatures. Similarly to normal fog, its effects and affects continue to get more and more extreme over time. The Cries are not present in white fog, and are instead replaced by something much worse...echolocating fog creatures. To survive white fog, one must be able to carry over 60lbs of fuzzy blankets or more at all times, or they will freeze after a few years. In fact, white fog is so dangerous that not even areas below ground are safe, as there is an abundance of burrowing fog creatures in white fog. Also underground gets very cold too, with white fog being able to freeze even the cores of planets after around 10 years of fog. It comes. WIP.
3.1: fog lord[]
The fog lord is the most powerful fog creature, and it creates every instance of fog. It keeps growing stronger. It has 2 children: the fog king and the fog queen. Not much is known about these 3. If it comes to your planet, give up resistance and give up your liquids to the fog lord. it is hungry; it demands sacrifice and needs cleansing. it is also thirsty. the fog lord has many different things it does, notably making fog and the creatures of the fog, inventing new fog creatures, making new types of fog such as the white fog, eating planets, and many other things.
3.2: red fog[]
Red fog is a version of the fog that is far more dangerous than both the normal fog and the white fog. It is named red fog because the fog is red and it rains blood sometimes. In red fog, fog creatures are more common, stronger, faster, smarter, and have very good eyesight, so everyone has to go very far underground or storms will hit them. Storms are dangerous events where creatures start appearing everywhere and it begins to rain glass sideways and tornadoes start forming everywhere, even in places where they would not usually form. this causes anything above ground except for the fog creatures to be killed in a matter of seconds to minutes, even in very large, strong buildings. this means that any good base would be mostly underground with a machine gun nest above ground to prevent fog creatures from getting inside. there are many different disasters that can occur in red fog, and due to the reduced visibility and the fact that Red Weed appears, it is almost impossible to get away from creatures and "events" in red fog. Also red weed is a weird weed like the one from war of the worlds that spreads over everything. red fog also makes all plants red, and makes everything decay and die. since there is a lot of decay and death in red fog, buildings are not safe at all especially in cities since if you are walking down a street in a now very much abandoned city, a building might just collapse on you out of nowhere, or a fog creature could come out of nowhere, alert others, and then they swarm you because cities are INFESTED with fog creatures because of the infected. the infected are a rare fog creature that are very common in red fog, and are just super overpowered zombies that aren't very smart but they are very large, strong, and have fast reflexes so basically everyone gets infected in the first few days, and since cities are densely populated, well... they are basically populated by millions of infected making them uninhabitable. infected can potentially infect animals too. there's also the red fungus that starts out as a mushroom that stinks and then it attracts flies which spread the fungus to animals, which it then infects and makes them sort of like rabid animals but more aggressive. this causes almost all animals except for some rodents, cats, and frogs. some planets have been ravaged by the red fog but managed to repel it but usually this results in a large chunk of the population of every species on that planet to die. some other planets have actually just endured the red fog for thousands of years, hard to tell why or how. temperature in red fog is very extreme, with some places being up to 200 degrees fahrenheit and others being as cold as white fog... in winter. Rot is also a lot more fast in trees in places affected by red fog so walking through the forest is dangerous for hundreds of reasons. also colder regions in red fog tend to get basketball sized hail, and cold / hot regions are very weird as one day a region might be one of the coldest and the next it might be one of the hottest, but that's impossible to predict. but red fog isn't even the most dangerous type of fog.
3.3: fog realm[]
Legends say that there is actually a fog realm, which is supposedly where all fog creatures come from. The fog is apparently a nation, and it (like others) has rulers, who control what the fog does. Creatures of the fog are basically a hivemind, and they have actual reasons behind their decisions. They are also allied with The Swarm and the Sussine. Since they are close allies, they avoid taking each other's land, instead helping each other to take over other places and expand even further. The fog realm actually sends fog creatures into planets using a network of teleporter controlled by hive queens, who are commanded by the supreme leaders of subsectors, who are controlled by kings, who are controlled by high lords, who are controlled by the two fog gods. More powerful fog creatures are sent to harder to conquer planets, so a weak planet without any organizations to prevent the frog from taking over will just have some weak fog creatures sent to it, but a very advanced civilization that spans multiple planets in a solar system will have stronger fog creatures sent. The fog, like the swarm, is powerful due to sheer scale. This is also true with the sussine.
