Mamuthus are the now extinct ancestors of the Elephus. Due to their era's harsher conditions, they had way more hair in their body, and they also had bigger sizes to fight other creatures that were a danger.
So, if Zhexzmogus likes the Elephus so much... why their literal cooler versions werent revived by him? Because he hates them. He finds them ugly. Yea, Zhexzmogus can be despicable sometimes...
