The Emates are enormous beasts with a shape that remembers to a crewmate. The emates are a very strong and unknown entities made up of Cosmic Es. Lots of Emates could even form an even higer, bigger and stronger being called Qmate. These beings are very weird for the reasons we said before (The thing that they can fuse).
They also have very long arms that can use like scythes. They are very sharp and can easily cut almost everything.
Not even Impostors know what is exactly an Emate, so we can discard that Emates are some impostors creation.
